Use this guide to explain risk reduction in a way that is credible, customer-safe, and useful to executives.

Use phrases that are clear without sounding alarmist:

⚠️ Gotchas ​

  • Do not overpromise. Risk reduction is not risk elimination.
  • Make evidence concrete: test result, sign-off, screenshot, metric, or documented dependency.
  • Separate customer-facing language from internal deal strategy.
  • Track risk reductions during the engagement; they are easy to forget at recap time.
  • Name the remaining owner and next step so the risk does not become vague again.
